Sporting Respite Program
The Ultimate Fan Experience
Important stuff to know
Our Sporting Respite program provides people over 18 the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of sport. Our expertise is providing 24-hr support in a small group environment. We engage with like-mind people who feel comfortable and safe being supported with a small group of individuals.
-
Support ratios
Our sporting respite programs are based on a capacity building model. We encourage and support independent growth and development in a small group setting with like-minded people. All our sports enthusiasts will need to be comfortable with being supported at a 1:2 or 1:3 ratio. Your support ratio will be determined during our intake process.
-
NDIS goals
Our small group respite programs are designed for people who have NDIS funding and whose individual goals are like ours.
· Increasing confidence and purpose
· Fostering an active mind and body
· Encouraging local sporting connections
· Supporting healthy daily habits
-
NDIS funding
You will be required to have a current NDIS plan that has adequate funding. Due to recent NDIS changes it is only possible to claim under Core Support. Find out more by getting in touch with our team.
-
Fee for service
If your current NDIS plan has insufficient funding or you don’t have any funding, we would still like to offer you a sporting respite experience. Find out more by getting in touch with our team.
-
Out of pocket expenses
There may be an additional cost to you depending on what NDIS funding you use. All ‘out-of-pocket’ expenses will be included in your quote (if applicable). There are no additional costs for any ticketed sporting events or themed activities we do. We cover those expenses on your behalf.
-
Quotation
Once you have decided on how you would like to pay for a sporting respite experience, we will send you a quote upon request. We are happy to send you a quote detailing the different NDIS support options or Fee for Service if you are unsure on which is the best fit for you.
-
Eligibility
As Fit to play is not a registered NDIS provider, we can only support NDIS participants who are:
· Plan managed and/or
· Self-managed
Before we can accept your booking, your Plan Nominee or Plan Manager must approve your quote.
-
New to Fit to play
All our new sporting participants will be required to go through our intake process which starts with completing our online forms. Once completed, we will assess and follow up with a chat and answer any questions you may have. We will then send you a quote with the appropriate support ratio. It can take anywhere between 1-3 weeks before a successful booking is made.
-
Medication
Our staff will support you to manage your medication if required. Prior to attending the respite program, you will be required to complete our medication and authority forms.
-
Cancellations
We absolutely understand that life can challenge and interrupt our plans at the last minute. If that means you are unable to attend our sporting respite experience after booking in, we will apply the NDIS cancellation policy which is fair and reasonable. For more detailed information on our policy, get in contact with our Intake team.
